 A. Elohim

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:26 ” Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”

 John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

 John 8:51 “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”

 Revelation 19:13 “He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.”

 Psalm 45:6-7 “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness; you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”

The Messiah as the Image of GOD

A. Eternality

Micah 5:2 “But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.”

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was G-d.

John 8:58 “Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.

Colossians 1:17 “And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Hebrew 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Revelations 11:15 “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our L-rd and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.

B. Self Existence

John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

John 5:26 “For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.”

John 14:10-11 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me,”

C. Life

Genesis 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. I Samuel 2:35 “And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind. And I will build him a sure house, and he shall go in and out before my anointed forever.”

The Divine Works of the Messiah

A. Creation

I Corinthians 8:6 “yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.”

B. Forgiveness of Sins

Numbers 14:17-19 “And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying, The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation. Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”

Matthew 9:2-6 “And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven. And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, This man is blaspheming. But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Rise and walk6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins ”he then said to the paralytic ”Rise, pick up your bed and go home.”

Luke 5:24 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins ”he said to the man who was paralyzed ”I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.”

Luke 7:47-48 “Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven ”for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little. And he said to her, Your sins are forgiven.”

C. Redemption

Exodus 15:2 “The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”

Isaiah 43:3 “For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior”

Isaiah 43:11 “I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.

Psalm 49:7,15 “Truly no man can ransom another, or give to G-d the price of his life. But G-d will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me.”

Ephesians 1:7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”

D. Judgment

Matthew 25:31-34 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

John 5:22-27 “The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.”

Acts 17:31 “because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead..”

Acts 10:42 “And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.”

II Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”

II Timothy 4:1 “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom.

 Worship Ascribed to the Messiah

Exodus 34:14 “for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”

Deuteronomy 5:9 “You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the L-rd your God am a jealous God.”

Matthew 14:33 “And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.”

Matthew 28: 9 “And behold, Jesus met them and said, Greetings! And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.

John 9:38 “He said, Lord, I believe, and he worshiped him.”

Philippians 2:10 “so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,”

Hebrews 1:6 “And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, Let all God’s angels worship him.”

The Angel of the L-RD

Genesis 16:10-13 “The angel of the Lord also said to her, I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the L-rd said to her, Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has listened to your affliction. He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen. So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You are a God of seeing, for she said, Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.”

Genesis 22:11-12 “But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham! And he said, Here am I. He said, Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

Genesis 31:11-13 “Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, Jacob, and I said, Here I am! And he said, Lift up your eyes and see, all the goats that mate with the flock are striped, spotted, and mottled, for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you. I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred.”

Exodus 23:20-21 “Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. Pay careful attention to him and obey his voice; do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him.”

Judges 2:1 “Now the angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, I brought you up from Egypt and brought you into the land that I swore to give to your fathers. I said, I will never break my covenant with you.”
